TIGOSE displays the Steady Special at Stowe School
Buckinghamshire-based, renowned boarding school Stowe had a Speech Day coupled with a glorious display of hundreds of classic cars belonging to the “Old Stoics” (Stowe Alumni), in May.
TIGOSE’s presence, for the occasion, was strong: founder Michael Scott brought his Steady Special, the Lancia Astura which was redesigned and re-engineered according to the wishes of ex-Stowe Alumnus and Old Stoic Steady Barker. It sat alongside the glorious Napier-Railton usually kept at Brooklands Museum.
There was also a hub dedicated to TIGOSE’s Apprenticeship Programme: more and more schools lament the fact that bright pupils, on leaving, may not find employment easily and quickly. Young people who like to fix, mend and have an inquisitive, “engineer-style” attitude, even if not academically-minded, would be well served by TIGOSE’s programme (delivered by Emtec Colleges) which secures work and a clear path in one of the fastest-growing industries of all time.
TIGOSE promotes and facilitates that path, apart from the bespoke course and relevant qualifications, either through its Members’ workshops or by supporting museums and schools.
